This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Program Manager, SAFe based in the United States.

In this role, you will lead complex, cross-functional programs that translate strategic priorities into measurable business outcomes. You will collaborate with business and technology leaders to align teams, streamline delivery, and improve visibility into progress, risks, and dependencies. By leveraging Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies, you will help the organization evolve toward more scalable, efficient, and value-driven ways of working. You will also champion Operational Value Streams, strengthen collaboration across teams, and address systemic challenges that affect delivery performance. This position offers the opportunity to influence organizational transformation, facilitate strategic decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across a complex enterprise environment. Join a remote-first, collaborative workplace where your program leadership and change management expertise can make a meaningful difference.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead strategic program execution: Manage complex, cross-functional programs from initial planning through delivery, ensuring alignment between business objectives, team priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and dependencies: Partner with business and technology leaders to manage interdependent initiatives, clarify priorities, resolve issues, assess risks, and facilitate timely decisions.
  • Facilitate planning and governance: Lead program planning sessions, leadership discussions, executive reviews, and other decision-making forums to promote alignment, accountability, and effective execution.
  • Improve program visibility and reporting: Establish clear reporting practices that communicate progress, business outcomes, risks, dependencies, and issues requiring leadership attention.
  • Strengthen Agile and SAFe practices: Support teams in adopting and maturing SAFe methodologies, evolving from traditional Agile approaches toward scalable delivery models that improve coordination and predictability.
  • Advance Operational Value Streams: Work with organizational leaders to establish and optimize Operational Value Streams, improving end-to-end workflow, delivery efficiency, and visibility across teams.
  • Remove systemic delivery impediments: Identify organizational challenges, bottlenecks, and recurring delivery issues, collaborating with teams and leadership to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Drive organizational change and continuous improvement: Support the adoption of effective governance practices, consistent delivery rhythms, and sustainable operating models that enhance organizational agility and long-term performance.
  • Requirements:

  • Program and project management experience: At least five years of experience in program, project, or portfolio management, including responsibility for complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Agile and SAFe expertise: Practical experience working in Agile and SAFe environments involving multiple teams, stakeholders, and interdependent workstreams.
  • Operational Value Stream knowledge: Understanding of flow-based delivery principles, Operational Value Streams, and scaled approaches to coordinating work across an organization.
  • Transformation and change management: Experience leading or supporting organizational transformation, change initiatives, or the evolution of delivery models and operating practices.
  • Facilitation and decision-making: Strong ability to facilitate planning sessions, leadership meetings, and complex discussions, ensuring diverse stakeholders reach clear decisions and maintain alignment.
  • Stakeholder management and communication: Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business leaders, technology teams, and senior executives.
  • Risk and dependency management: Ability to anticipate delivery challenges, identify cross-team dependencies, resolve impediments, and maintain visibility into program health and business outcomes.
  • Preferred SAFe experience: Familiarity with Agile Release Trains (ARTs), PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and other SAFe practices and events.
  • Preferred certifications and enterprise experience: A SAFe certification, such as SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), SAFe Agilist (SA), or SAFe Practitioner (SP), is an advantage. Experience in an Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) or portfolio management environment is also beneficial.
  • Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation: Annual base salary ranging from $101,900 to $132,800, with the final offer potentially varying according to qualifications, experience, market conditions, and business considerations.
  • Remote flexibility: A remote-friendly work environment that supports flexibility and work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Retirement savings: A 401(k) retirement savings program with an employer match.
  • Flexible paid time off: Paid leave designed to support personal needs, rest, and work-life balance.
  • Parental support: Generous parental leave benefits.
  • Wellness programs: Resources and programs designed to support employee health and well-being.
  • Professional development: Tuition reimbursement to support continued education and career growth.
  • Pet insurance: Coverage options to help manage eligible pet care expenses.
  • Legal and identity protection: Access to legal assistance and identity protection benefits.
  • Community impact: A donations program that supports employees in making a difference through charitable and community-focused initiatives.
