Senior Analyst, Supply and Demand Planning.

FULL TIMEREMOTESENIOR LEVEL

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Analyst, Supply and Demand Planning based in Canada.

As a Senior Analyst, Supply and Demand Planning, you will play a key role in aligning consumer demand forecasts with business priorities and supply chain operations. You will manage a portfolio of approximately 300 SKUs, using sales insights, historical trends, promotional activities, and market intelligence to develop accurate and actionable demand plans. Working closely with Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams, you will help anticipate changes in consumer demand, minimize supply risks, and support informed business decisions. You will contribute to short-term execution and strategic planning processes, ensuring forecasts reflect evolving market conditions and customer needs. Through data-driven analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement, you will help optimize operational efficiency and strengthen supply chain performance. This full-time opportunity offers the chance to influence business outcomes within a collaborative, fast-paced consumer products environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead forecast review meetings with key sales accounts, incorporating customer insights and business updates to refine demand forecasts and improve accuracy.
  • Manage and maintain demand plans for a portfolio of approximately 300 SKUs, ensuring forecasts are developed, reviewed, published, and adjusted in line with business needs.
  • Contribute to the Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) process by updating short-term plans, monitoring sales performance, assessing demand changes, and identifying potential supply risks.
  • Participate in the first two stages of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, collaborating with planning colleagues and presenting customer-specific and short-term forecast adjustments to senior leadership.
  • Analyze historical sales data and future demand drivers, including distribution changes, pricing adjustments, product launches, competitor activities, marketing initiatives, and promotional plans.
  • Review monthly demand-sensing recommendations and translate relevant insights into timely forecast adjustments.
  • Partner with Sales teams to evaluate advertising and promotional activities against historical performance and incorporate findings into demand planning assumptions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on new product launches, product transitions, and obsolescence initiatives, assessing forecast assumptions, initial pipeline requirements, and potential product cannibalization.
  • Communicate demand plans, assumptions, risks, and opportunities to internal stakeholders and supply chain partners in the required format and within established timelines.
  • Conduct monthly root cause analyses of forecast errors, identify corrective actions, and implement recommendations to improve forecasting performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze business process metrics, and identify opportunities to enhance planning processes, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen demand planning practices and overall supply chain performance.
  • Requirements:

  • A university degree is required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of combined professional experience in demand planning, sales, and/or supply chain management.
  • Experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry is preferred, particularly in environments involving promotional planning, product launches, and demand forecasting.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret historical data, assess demand trends, investigate forecast variances, and translate insights into practical business recommendations.
  • Experience using planning applications such as SAP, SAP APO, Kinaxis, or SAS is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and other business functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, drive action, present findings effectively, and support decision-making at different organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience contributing to or leading process improvement initiatives, using business metrics and performance indicators to identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach, with a strong commitment to data accuracy, continuous improvement, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Ability to work regular business hours from Monday to Friday in an office-based environment, with remote work available one day per week for eligible employees.
  • Candidates should be aware that relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary: Expected annual salary range of CAD 79,958 to CAD 104,944.35, depending on relevant skills, experience, education, and location.
  • Performance-based rewards: Potential eligibility for profit sharing, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives, depending on job level, eligibility, and performance.
