Java Developer.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Java Developer based in India.

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to build high-performing, scalable, and enterprise-grade applications. In this role, you will contribute to the development of mission-critical systems, delivering reliable and efficient software solutions. You will be involved throughout the software development lifecycle, from initial concept and design to implementation, testing, and release. Working alongside a talented software team, you will develop high-volume, low-latency applications that meet demanding performance and quality standards. You will apply strong Java and Java EE expertise while leveraging established frameworks, database technologies, and software design patterns. This is a remote freelance opportunity offering the chance to contribute to complex projects and continuous technical improvement.

Accountabilities

• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design through development, testing, and deployment.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Java and Java EE technologies.

• Write clean, well-structured, testable, and efficient code in accordance with project specifications and engineering standards.

• Ensure application designs and implementations meet functional, technical, and performance requirements.

• Develop and maintain software components, preparing and delivering reliable releases.

• Apply object-oriented analysis and design principles, using appropriate software design patterns.

• Work with relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies to support effective data management.

• Investigate new tools, technologies, and approaches, and contribute recommendations during architectural reviews.

• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance application quality, maintainability, and performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; graduates from other fields may also be considered.

• 5–15 years of professional software development experience, including proven hands-on Java development.

• Strong practical experience designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.

• Solid understanding of object-oriented analysis and design principles, including common design patterns.

• In-depth knowledge of Java and JEE internals, including class loading, memory management, and transaction management.

• Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies such as JPA 2 and Hibernate.

• Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework.

• Experience developing web applications using at least one established framework, such as JSF, Wicket, GWT, or Spring MVC.

• Familiarity with test-driven development and software testing best practices.

• Java certification, such as Sun Certified Java Developer, is an advantage.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a software development team.
