Director, Supply Chain.

FULL TIMEREMOTELEADERSHIP

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Supply Chain based in the United States.

The Director, Supply Chain will lead the development and execution of an integrated, end-to-end supply chain strategy across multiple business units in a complex electronics manufacturing environment. This senior leadership role will transform supply chain operations into a scalable, documented, and system-driven function, improving delivery performance, forecast accuracy, inventory management, and cost efficiency. The successful candidate will oversee strategic planning, procurement, supplier management, sourcing, and supply chain systems while aligning operational priorities with business objectives. Working closely with executive leadership and global cross-functional teams, the Director will strengthen processes, mitigate supply risks, and optimize working capital. This role offers the opportunity to build and develop a lean, high-performing organization while establishing the systems, controls, and performance metrics needed for sustainable growth. This is a full-time remote position open to candidates legally authorized to work in the United States, with domestic and international travel as business needs require.

Accountabilities

    • Lead the end-to-end Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process, including forecasting, safety stock, risk-buy decisions, demand and supply reviews, executive reconciliation, and alignment with revenue and margin plans.

    • Plan production and supply chain capacity, identifying potential constraints more than 50 weeks in advance.

    • Establish, document, and maintain standardized supply chain processes across the organization, conducting internal audits and using findings to improve procedures and systems.

    • Define supply chain systems architecture and ERP requirements, ensuring effective integration with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms.

    • Develop supply chain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for release through the Quality Management System (QMS), in collaboration with Quality teams.

    • Lead purchasing, procurement, approved vendor list (AVL) governance, vendor risk management, supplier consolidation, and automation of purchasing workflows through ERP-based Material Requirements Planning (MRP).

    • Manage inventory strategy and working capital targets, including excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory, clear-to-build performance, safety stock, risk-buy and spot-buy policies, inventory positioning, and purchase price variance (PPV).

    • Implement system controls, dashboards, and reporting to monitor inventory performance, operational risks, and supply chain KPIs.

    • Develop sourcing strategies and category management capabilities, overseeing supplier scorecards, delivery performance, lead-time visibility, contract management, and supplier agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

    • Establish a comprehensive supply chain risk management strategy addressing geopolitical exposure, tariffs, dual sourcing, and make-to-stock, make-to-order, and procure-to-forecast models.

    • Define and track key performance indicators, including on-time delivery, clear-to-build performance, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, working capital, E&O value, stockout frequency, supplier performance, PPV, and cost savings.

    • Define organizational roles, responsibilities, and coverage while leading, coaching, and developing distributed teams through performance management and succession planning.

    • Requirements

      • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field is required; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.

      • At least 10 years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, including end-to-end SIOP ownership, within electronics, semiconductor, or other high-complexity component manufacturing environments.

      • Demonstrated expertise in leading SIOP/S&OP processes, including forecasting, capacity planning, inventory strategy, and cross-functional business alignment.

      • Proven experience defining ERP requirements and designing supply chain processes in ERP-driven environments; NetSuite experience is an advantage.

      • Strong background in inventory management, working capital optimization, excess and obsolete inventory control, safety stock planning, and risk-buy policies.

      • Extensive purchasing and procurement leadership experience, including supplier management, AVL governance, sourcing strategy, and vendor risk management.

      • Experience developing or scaling category management and sourcing capabilities is preferred.

      • Experience managing long lead-time supply chains with complex components and elevated supply risks.

      • Demonstrated ability to lead distributed, multi-site teams, including direct reports at the management level, and to build scalable operations in a lean environment.

      • Comfort working in a private-equity-owned organization, balancing operational improvements, cost control, and headcount discipline.

      • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to present effectively to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.

      • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

      • Strong strategic thinking, organizational skills, and a data-driven approach to operational decision-making and continuous improvement.

      • Benefits

        • Full-time employment.

        • Remote work arrangement within the United States.
