We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 for our San Diego location. This position will be on 2nd shift (1:00 pm - 10:30 pm) paying 7% differential per hour. The Manufacturing Technician 1 position performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication. Primary Responsibilities: Handling and managing fragile composite materials. Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products Experience with layup of uni-directional and weave pre-pregs May report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments. Tooling preparation and release application. Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware. Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness. Execute to written instructions. Basic Qualifications: A high school diploma and 0-2+ years' of composite lay up/ bonding experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working in a composites/manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures, aerospace manufacturing environment) Demonstrated Mechanical Ability. Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in English. Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic. Ability to work under limited supervision. US Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree or 2 year Technical degree and 3 years' minimum experience in a manufacturing environment. Excels in a team environment. Ability to work under limited supervision. Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence. Ability to multitask, prioritize. Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues. Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel. Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $72,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
