About the role
Nscale is a global hyperscaler engineered for AI infrastructure and the engine for superintelligence. Our ability to build and scale exceptional teams depends on a seamless, supportive experience for every employee we hire, relocate and move. Immigration and mobility are not just processes — they are pivotal life moments.
We're looking for an experienced Immigration & Mobility Specialist, based in Singapore, to deliver end-to-end support for Nscale's employees across Asia-Pacific. You'll own immigration casework with external counsel and mobility casework with relocation vendors, so employees moving through both get one joined-up experience.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving, still-evolving programme where the playbook isn't always written yet. You'll be the in-region expert for a growing APAC footprint that spans Nscale entities, EOR locations and countries where we don't yet have a local entity.
Why join Nscale?
You'll join a collaborative, high-impact team at the centre of a fast-growing APAC programme, with potential to grow into a broader remit as Nscale expands globally. You'll be trusted to run casework end-to-end, use your judgement in ambiguous situations, and act as a close advisor to Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners and APAC People Ops.
At Nscale, we hold ourselves to high standards while keeping people at the centre of how we operate. If you want to deliver compliant, compassionate and scalable immigration and mobility support, we'd love to hear from you.
The impact you'll have
You'll be the go-to partner for employees, candidates and managers through new hires, relocations, assignments, business travel, work pass renewals and sponsorship across APAC. Because you see both the immigration and mobility sides of each move, nothing falls through the cracks for employees navigating both at once.
Your work will keep Nscale compliant with regulators such as Singapore's Ministry of Manpower, while making every move feel clear and supported. It will directly help Nscale attract and retain global talent — responsibly, ethically and efficiently.
What you'll be responsible for
Owning immigration casework
- Take end-to-end ownership of APAC immigration cases in partnership with external counsel, from initial assessment to approval, onboarding and renewal
- Act as the Singapore subject-matter expert, including Employment Pass (with COMPASS), S Pass, ONE Pass and Dependant's Pass applications, renewals and cancellations
- Manage Ministry of Manpower submissions, requests for information and portal transactions in line with Global Mobility & Immigration's agreed roles and responsibilities
- Support casework across other APAC jurisdictions, such as Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and India, including EOR and non-entity locations
- Track work pass expiries, renewals, conditions and status changes, keeping case records accurate and audit-ready
- Manage relationships with outside counsel and make sure service levels are consistently met
Owning mobility casework
- Manage end-to-end mobility casework for APAC employees, including relocations, transfers and assignments into, out of and within the region
- Review and approve mobility allowance requests through the ticketing system until a full mobility programme is in place
- Assess business travel and short-term assignment requests, advising on visa and work-authorisation requirements
- Partner with relocation and mobility vendors on case initiation, tracking and issue resolution
- Keep cases moving with sound judgement where process isn't fully defined
Delivering an exceptional employee experience
- Act as the primary point of contact for immigration and mobility queries, giving clear, timely and empathetic guidance
- Coordinate immigration and mobility steps for each employee so timelines, requirements and next steps are clear
- Handle sensitive or high-stakes moves and conversations, including refusals and appeals, with composure and compassion
Advising TA, HRBPs, People Ops and business leaders
- Serve as the day-to-day immigration and mobility advisor for Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners and APAC People Ops
- Advise early on candidate eligibility, work pass criteria, relocation costs and timelines
- Give hiring managers and leaders practical guidance in real time, across APAC time zones
- Flag risks or bottlenecks early, and bring options rather than just problems
Building scalable processes
- Document workflows and build tracking systems that drive transparency and accountability
- Apply and help refine global immigration and mobility policy, processes and playbooks for APAC
- Support KPI reporting, cost analysis and employee feedback to improve programme effectiveness
- Help set up immigration and mobility support for new APAC entities, countries and EOR locations from day one
- Contribute to APAC mobility forecasting and playbooks for expansion and M&A activity
Who you are
You care about people and understand the stress that can come with a move or a work pass process. You combine empathy with precision, staying compliant without losing sight of the human experience.
You're calm under ambiguity, organised and quick to build trust. You're as comfortable managing a complex case as advising a TA partner in the moment, and you're open to your scope growing beyond APAC.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of combined APAC immigration and mobility experience, in-house
- Strong knowledge of Singapore work pass frameworks and Ministry of Manpower processes, including COMPASS
- Working knowledge of immigration in other APAC jurisdictions, and experience managing cases with external counsel
- Strong working knowledge of relocation, assignment and business travel compliance in the region
- Proven ability to work effectively in fast-changing environments without a fully defined process
- Strong stakeholder skills, with experience advising TA, HRBPs and business leaders directly
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with sound judgement under pressure
- Strong organisation, with the ability to manage many cases and deadlines at once
- Confidence handling sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
- Openness to taking on additional locations or regions as the business grows
It's a plus if you have...
- Experience working with a law firm or with a relocation provider
- Experience supporting immigration or mobility in a high-growth, start-up or scaling environment
- Exposure to immigration or mobility outside APAC, such as the UK, EMEA or US
- Exposure to datacentre, infrastructure or technical workforce populations
- Experience with mobility vendors, EOR providers or non-entity hiring models
- Experience building or refining in-house immigration and mobility processes
- Strong data reporting and programme metrics experience
- Additional APAC languages, such as Mandarin, Bahasa, Japanese, Korean
