ReCloud IT is a fast-growing IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) startup delivering secure, scalable, end-to-end infrastructure lifecycle solutions to customers. We are launching a dedicated ITAD and lifecycle depot facility within our Piscataway, NJ. We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on Director of Depot Services to lead the physical technical setup from the ground up and anchor daily lifecycle execution to build out bench infrastructure, establish standard processing routines, and execute end-to-end device imaging, testing, repair, certified data erasure, and redeployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ground-Up Facility & Bench Buildout:
- Design, assemble, and cable technical workstations, high-density data erasure racks, imaging servers, and diagnostic benches.
- Establish physical warehouse flow (intake, triage, wipe, repair, QC, staged inventory, outbound kitting) applying 5S and ESD-safe workplace standards.
- Validate barcode scanners, network drops, diagnostic tools, and Warehouse Management System (WMS) station integrations before operational launch.
- Technical Lifecycle & Depot Execution:
- Build, capture, and deploy custom OS images (Windows, macOS, ChromeOS) and configure hardware to client-specific requirements.
- Execute Level 1, 2, and advanced modular hardware repairs on enterprise laptops, desktops, servers, and peripherals (screen swaps, system boards, soldered-down component diagnostics).
- Assemble custom return kits for ReCloud’s Remote Box Program, manage staging inventory, and package out-of-box ready deployments for end users.
- Data Sanitization & Regulatory Compliance:
- Configure and run high-volume automated data sanitization software (e.g., Blancco, WhiteCanyon, WipeOS) strictly aligned with NIST 800-88 Rev. 1 and DoD guidelines.
- Operate and maintain physical drive destruction hardware (degaussers, mechanical shredders) and audit serialized certificates of destruction.
- Ensure daily handling, labeling, and hazardous material storage comply with R2v3, e-Stewards, and ISO standard procedures.
- Inventory Accuracy & Process Refinement:
- Maintain serial-level chain of custody across all client assets from initial dock scan to final disposition.
- Perform routine cycle counts, identify inventory discrepancies, and partner with leadership to continuously refine depot SOPs, processing speed, and quality control checkpoints.

- Location: 100% onsite at our depot facility in Piscataway, NJ. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in depot operations, reverse logistics, or enterprise hardware refurbishment.
- Depot Setup Track Record: Prior experience setting up, expanding, or improving an electronics depot, repair lab, or IT warehouse facility from an early stage.
- Technical Depth:
- Advanced troubleshooting, component replacement, and diagnostics across multi-vendor PC, Mac, and server hardware.
- Working mastery of PXE boot, network imaging tools, USB deployment automation, and enterprise data erasure utilities.
- Deep familiarity with serialized WMS/ERP scanning, asset lifecycle tagging, and chain-of-custody reporting.
- Certifications (Strongly Preferred): CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or vendor certifications (Dell, HP, Apple Certified Mac Technician).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift, maneuver, and palletize equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, walking, reaching, and bending throughout an 8-hour shift in a depot/warehouse setting.
