Where Your Work Moves the Needle.

At Pebl, every team member drives our success. Joining us means more than filling a role—you’re accountable for results and impact. Our values guide how we operate, execute, and collaborate across borders. By putting them into action, you’ll help us scale faster, compete harder, and lead the future of global work.

What Makes You a Great Fit

We are seeking a Senior Specialist to serve as a senior individual contributor within LATAM onboarding operations, independently owning complex employee and customer work through completion. This role combines deep regional HR expertise with broad operational ownership: translating employment requirements into clear actions, anticipating downstream risks, resolving cross-functional challenges, and building scalable practices that improve the experience for enterprise clients and supported employees. The ideal candidate brings structure to ambiguity, applies technical fluency in HRIS workflows, integrations, and data, uses customer feedback and metrics to improve results, and influences outcomes without formal authority. This is a hybrid role based in Medellín, Colombia, and only candidates who currently reside in Medellín will be considered.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Independently own the most complex onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing HR operational work for enterprise clients and supported employees across multiple LATAM jurisdictions, from intake through complete resolution.

  • Anticipate underlying customer and employee needs, likely follow-up questions, downstream effects, compliance risks, and dependencies; translate complexity into clear guidance, realistic timelines, and decisive next steps.

  • Serve as a regional subject-matter expert on employment and labor regulations, collective agreements, and operational practices, converting requirements into compliant, practical, and scalable processes.

  • Partner with Payroll, Legal, Benefits, Immigration, Product, Support, Client Services, and external providers; maintain urgency and accountability across handoffs until the intended outcome is achieved.

  • Lead cross-functional operational initiatives—including complex launches, policy changes, mass onboarding or offboarding, and recurring service issues—from problem definition and stakeholder alignment through implementation, adoption, and follow-up.

  • Define KPIs and reporting logic, assess data quality, and use dashboards or queries with customer feedback to diagnose root causes, prioritize risks, and measure cycle time, SLA attainment, reopens, errors, and satisfaction.

  • Build and maintain SOPs, controls, playbooks, knowledge resources, and training that improve independent execution, strengthen quality, and standardize team practices.

  • Lead HRIS workflow, integration, and automation improvements from requirements and data mapping through UAT, migration controls, release readiness, post-launch stabilization, and sustained adoption.

  • Act as a senior escalation point for sensitive, ambiguous, or nonstandard matters; present context, options, risks, and a recommended path, and coach peers without direct people-management responsibility.

The above statements describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this role and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties. This job description may be updated periodically based on the needs of the company and the Business Operations Department.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

To succeed in this role, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Education/Experience:

  • A strong technical or analytical degree—ideally in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline—or equivalent practical experience is required.

  • Proven experience defining requirements for HRIS workflows and integrations, including data mapping, UAT, migration controls, release readiness, and post-launch stabilization.

  • Advanced data fluency, including defining KPIs and reporting logic, assessing data quality, and using dashboards or queries to guide scalable process and product decisions.

  • At least six years of progressively responsible HR or HR Operations experience, including substantial international or multi-country employee-lifecycle work in fast-paced, high-volume environments.

  • Demonstrated expertise managing complex onboarding and offboarding processes across multiple client environments, deadlines, and sensitive employee matters with accuracy and care.

  • Strong knowledge of, and hands-on experience applying, employment and labor laws and HR regulations across multiple LATAM countries is required; experience supporting Colombia and additional LATAM markets is strongly valued.

  • A track record of independently owning complex or sensitive HR matters, exercising sound judgment in ambiguity, and influencing stakeholders without formal authority.

  • Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives and translating legal, policy, customer, or operational requirements into scalable processes from design through adoption.

  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, including using operational data and customer feedback to identify patterns, define success measures, and improve compliance, quality, speed, and experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, proactive stakeholder management, empathetic customer orientation, and the ability to escalate with clear context, options, risks, and recommendations.

  • Experience creating SOPs, controls, enablement, or training; coaching peers; and working with HRIS, ticketing, case-management, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Professional proficiency in English is required. Portuguese language skills will make candidates stand out.

  • Current residence in Medellín, Colombia, and availability to work in a hybrid model are required. Only local residents of Medellín will be considered.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Knowledge of Canadian employment law and HR practices.

  • Experience in an Employer of Record, global employment, HR outsourcing, or high-growth technology environment.

  • A relevant HR or employment-law certification.
