Our Dispensary Assistants utilize a team-based approach to provide a wide range of activities that support our hospital.
Essential Responsibilities and tasks:
- Ordering supplies and medication
- Overseeing the usage of controlled substances via weekly, monthly and quarterly audits
- Ensuring our hospital is within DEA compliance
- Budgeting and evaluating ordering supplies
- Ensuring excellent vendor relationships
- Complete dispensary checklists
- Other job duties as assigned
- Fill medications and prescriptions
- Cycle counts/ / Audits via Quarterly inventory counts
- Waste handling / Drugs / Hazardous materials
Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a busy hospital environment
- Demonstrate calm demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- General knowledge of DEA and controlled substance compliance is a plus
- Licensed pharmacy tech desired but not required
- Basic Excel knowledge
- Phone / Email etiquette
- Inventory background (Lifting boxes 25lbs-50lbs)
- Organization skills
- Knowledge of Cubex (Not required)
