Responsibilities
Cardinal Technology Systems Corp. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Software Systems Engineer to work for our company.
Summary
- Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC). (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
- Under minimal direction, provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, and applications implications.
- Responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
- Assists in the planning and conversion for new hardware/software products.
- Maintains currency, debugs and configures related software products.
- Provides operating systems planning and evaluation for performance analysis, capacity planning and hardware upgrades.
- Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications.
- Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs.
- Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, setting standards and improving overall efficiency of the operating system.
- Prepares product documentation.
- Interfaces with customers to gather information on system requirements or problems.
Requirements

- 8+ years of experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology).
Preferences
- Experience providing specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines is preferred.
- Experience performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products is preferred.
- Experience supporting complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support is preferred.
- Experience assisting with planning and conversion for new hardware and software products is preferred.
- Experience maintaining, debugging, and configuring software products is preferred.
- Experience supporting operating systems planning and evaluation, including performance analysis, capacity planning, and hardware upgrades, is preferred.
- Experience working from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications is preferred.
- Experience assisting with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs is preferred.
- Experience coordinating with system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve operating system efficiency is preferred.
- Experience preparing product documentation is preferred.
- Experience interfacing with customers to gather information on system requirements or problems is preferred.
