Job Description: Maryland Environmental Service has immediate openings for a full-time heavy equipment operator at the Cox Creek Dredged Material Containment Facility and the Cox Creek Sediment Technology and Reuse Facility. The projects are located in northern Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City, Maryland. This position may travel to other sites as needed. Positions available include EO Trainee (EOT), EO, Senior EO (SEO), and Lead EO (LEO). Primary responsibilities include operating off-road dump trucks, dozers, excavators, other heavy equipment, and dewatering pumps. Training will be provided as needed. This position may occasionally require evening and weekend work. Estimated Pay Range: Position classification and salary offered will be based upon applicable experience EO Trainee : $43,592.64 to $59,928.96 EO (Grade 3) $47,938.80 to $65,934.96 Senior EO: $52,743.60 - $72,530.64 Lead EO: $58,028.88 - $79,781.52 Benefits: Health Insurance with choice of medical plan and prescription, dental, vision, and life and disability insurance options, along with flexible spending accounts 401K retirement savings program with generous agency match Paid vacation, personal and sick leave Eleven paid holidays per year Tuition assistance Minimum Requirements: The EOT through LEO classifications all require graduation from a standard high school or GED, ability to pass a standard physical examination, ability to lift 50 pounds, and possession of a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points. EOT requires no additional experience. EO classification is required to have one (1) year applicable experience, SEO is required to have three (3) years applicable experience, and the LEO is required to have five (5) years applicable experience. This position will be open until filled. This EO Trainee and EO positions are eligible for on-spot, contingent offers. Candidates who apply after an on-spot offer has been extended (including internal candidates) will not be considered unless the candidate who receives the on-spot, contingent offer does not complete the process to become an MES employee. Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successfully completing required pre-employment screens, to include full background check, drug & alcohol screening, and position appropriate physical.
