The temporary Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the finance department by ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and assisting with key accounting functions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally to support business needs. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various general accounting duties, reconciliations, and assisting with financial planning and reporting processes DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and post journal entries to ensure timely and accurate month-end closing. Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate any discrepancies. Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Assist in reviewing and maintaining vendor accounts, payments, and accruals. Support budgeting and forecasting processes by compiling financial data and reports. Analyze financial trends and variances to provide insights for management decisions. Collaborate with other departments and locations to improve financial processes and controls. Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting functions. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations. Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls to prevent errors and fraud. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES Clear and effective communication, both in writing and speaking. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently. Proficiency in computer software like Microsoft suites. Ability to manage and complete tasks promptly. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across departments. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE One to Three-year of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or corporate finance environment. JDE ERP experience preferred. Systems data input experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
