Your responsibilities will include: Preparing and lodging liquor licence, permit, registration and approval applications Managing applications, renewals, transfers, variations and regulatory submissions Providing practical, commercially focused advice to venues and internal stakeholders Liaising with liquor licensing authorities, councils, police and other regulatory bodies Monitoring application progress, deadlines, risks and outstanding requirements Supporting venue openings, refurbishments, ownership changes and operational changes Maintaining accurate licensing registers, records and documentation Preparing reports, briefs and updates for senior stakeholders Interpreting legislation and explaining requirements in clear, practical language Monitoring regulatory changes and advising the business on potential impacts Identifying opportunities to improve licensing processes, systems and ways of working Supporting licensing projects and other compliance initiatives as required What we’re looking for You may come from a liquor licensing, regulatory, hospitality, gaming, local government, legal administration or compliance background. Most importantly, you’ll be confident managing detail, building relationships and finding practical solutions. You’ll ideally bring: Experience managing regulatory or licensing applications from start to finish Exposure to liquor licensing, hospitality, gaming, local government or a similar regulatory environment The ability to interpret legislation, policies and regulatory requirements Strong written communication and report-writing skills Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing deadlines Confidence communicating with regulators, venues and senior stakeholders Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team Strong computer skills and confidence learning new systems High levels of integrity, discretion and confidentiality Familiarity with licensing frameworks across Australia and New Zealand will be highly regarded Why join Australian Venue Co.?
