SEO/GEO Content Manager with French or German (All Genders).

FULL TIMESALES & MARKETING

As SEO/GEO Content Manager, you will help grow the organic visibility of zooplus across our European markets. Your focus will be on creating and improving useful, relevant content that pet owners can find through traditional search engines and, increasingly, through AI and LLM-powered search experiences.

You will identify content opportunities based on search demand, user intent and market trends, applying Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) best practices. You will own content projects end to end and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality, locally relevant content.

This is an individual contributor role with responsibility for content projects and external partners, but no direct people-management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver SEO and GEO content projects across the zooplus shop ecosystem, from research and briefing through to publication, performance review and optimisation.
  • Conduct keyword, topic and competitor research to identify content opportunities across European markets.
  • Build content plans based on topic clusters, search volume, user intent, pet-care trends, product trends and seasonality.
  • Create clear content briefs and ensure that published content is accurate, on-brand, locally relevant and aligned with search intent.
  • Optimise existing content and on-page elements on our e-commerce website, including page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links and structured content, for traditional and AI-powered search.
  • Monitor content performance, organic visibility and visibility in LLM-powered search experiences, translating insights into actionable improvements.
  • Collaborate with SEO, Product and Technology teams on site structure, page templates and other technical requirements that affect content performance.
  • Manage content agencies, freelancers and translation partners, while working closely with Editorial, Category Management, Brand, Social Media, Video and local market teams.

Must-Have Requirements

  • At least 2–3 years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally within e-commerce, an in-house SEO team or an agency.
  • Strong experience in SEO content strategy, keyword and topic research, content briefing and on-page optimisation.
  • Experience planning and delivering content projects from initial research through to publication and performance review.
  • Practical experience with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs and Screaming Frog, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience using a content management system such as Contentful, WordPress or a similar CMS.
  • A working understanding of technical and off-page SEO and how they influence content performance.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate performance data into clear optimisation measures.
  • Strong project-management and organisational skills, including experience coordinating external agencies, freelancers or content partners.
  • Native or bilingual proficiency at C2 level in German or French, alongside professional written and spoken English.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Practical experience with GEO, AI search or monitoring content visibility in LLM-powered search experiences.
  • Understanding of how LLMs and AI-powered search systems discover, assess and reference online content.
  • Experience working in e-commerce or across multiple European markets.
  • Experience optimising content for platforms such as YouTube, Instagram or TikTok.
  • Experience working with localisation or translation partners.
  • Knowledge of another European language.
  • An interest in pets and the pet-care industry.

What Success Looks Like

Within 6–12 months, you will have:

  • Established a structured pipeline of content opportunities based on search demand, user intent and market relevance.
  • Delivered new and improved content across priority European markets.
  • Increased the organic visibility and discoverability of priority content in traditional and AI-powered search experiences.
  • Introduced a clear process for researching, briefing, publishing, measuring and continuously improving SEO/GEO content.
  • Built effective working relationships with SEO, Editorial, Category Management, Brand, Product, Technology and local market teams.
  • Established productive delivery processes with content agencies, freelancers and translation partners.
  • Turned performance data and search insights into clear, prioritized content recommendations.
