Role Overview

Chartis is seeking an Engagement Manager to join our Revenue Cycle Transformation team. In this role, you will lead consulting engagements that help healthcare organizations optimize revenue cycle operations, improve financial performance, and implement sustainable operational improvements.

Our team partners with hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers to address complex revenue cycle challenges across both acute care and ambulatory settings. Our work spans the revenue cycle, from patient access and revenue integrity to billing, collections, and denials management, as well as broader initiatives focused on operational efficiency, organizational effectiveness, and performance transformation.

As an Engagement Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day project leadership, manage and develop consulting teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders. You will combine revenue cycle expertise, analytical problem-solving, and strong project management skills to translate complex challenges into actionable recommendations and measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements: Manage the day-to-day execution of revenue cycle consulting projects, including project planning, workstream coordination, deliverable development, timeline management, and overall project performance.

  • Drive revenue cycle improvement: Assess current-state operations, identify performance gaps, and develop actionable recommendations to improve revenue cycle efficiency, financial outcomes, and operational effectiveness.

  • Apply analytical problem-solving: Leverage financial, operational, and performance data to identify root causes, evaluate improvement opportunities, and develop data-driven recommendations.

  • Advise and collaborate with clients: Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders, including revenue cycle leaders and other healthcare executives, to understand organizational challenges, communicate findings, and drive alignment around solutions.

  • Support implementation and transformation: Help clients translate recommendations into actionable improvement plans, including process redesign, performance measurement, change management, and implementation support.

  • Lead and develop consulting teams: Provide direction, coaching, and mentorship to Analysts, Associate Consultants, and Consultants while ensuring high-quality work products and professional development.

  • Deliver compelling client recommendations: Develop and present clear, insightful deliverables that communicate complex findings, recommendations, and implementation priorities to client leadership.

  • Contribute to practice growth: Support business development efforts, proposal development, knowledge sharing, and internal initiatives that strengthen our Revenue Cycle Transformation practice.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, performance improvement, or transformation, with a demonstrated understanding of revenue cycle processes and financial drivers.

  • Experience in healthcare consulting or a comparable role leading complex revenue cycle improvement initiatives within a hospital, health system, or healthcare services organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, coordinate multiple workstreams, and deliver results in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret operational and financial data, identify improvement opportunities, and develop practical recommendations.

  • Experience leading, coaching, or managing teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior-level audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish credibility and build relationships with healthcare leaders.

  • Experience across multiple revenue cycle functions, such as patient access, charge capture, revenue integrity, coding, billing, denials management, collections, or accounts receivable.

  • Experience leading large-scale revenue cycle transformation, operational improvement, or performance optimization initiatives.

  • Familiarity with revenue cycle performance metrics, benchmarking, and financial improvement methodologies.

  • Experience supporting organizational change and implementation of operational improvements.

  • Advanced degree such as an MBA, MHA, or MPH.
