Brite Nites is running the outdoor ice rink at Utah City in Vineyard this winter, with public skating and ice bumper cars. The Shift Lead runs the rink for the night while working it. This is a working lead: you'll be in the skate shack and on the ice right alongside the crew. You report to Brite Nites management.
Pay: $18-20 an hour, depending on experience. Bi-weekly pay.
Where: Utah City, Vineyard, UT
Season: Saturday, November 28, 2026 through early February 2027 (exact date TBD)
Type: W-2, full-time seasonal, hourly.
What you will do
- Lead the shift while working the skate shack
- Coordinate skate rentals and returns
- Assign attendants between the rink and bumper cars
- Manage breaks and guest flow
- Complete the opening and closing checklists
- Help run the daily ice-condition checks and basic maintenance
- Handle minor guest-service and safety issues, and escalate when needed
- Report operational issues to Brite Nites management
Schedule
Mostly evenings and weekends. Weekend and holiday availability matters most.
- Monday and Wednesday: 5:30 to 9:45 pm
- Tuesday and Thursday (Bump & Skate): 5:30 to 10 pm
- Friday: 5:30 to 10 pm
- Saturday: 11 am to 10 pm, split into shifts
- Sunday: private rentals, 12 to 8 pm, by reservation
- Holiday break, December 21 to January 2: open Monday through Saturday, 11 am to 10:45 pm
- Christmas Eve: 11 am to 4 pm. Christmas Day: closed.
- New Year's Eve: 11 am to midnight. New Year's Day: 12 to 5 pm.
- Training: two days, the week of November 23, before opening
What you need
- 18 or older
- Experience leading a shift, a crew, or a team in recreation, hospitality, retail, food service, or events
- Available evenings, weekends, and holidays through the end of the season
- Comfortable working outside in winter weather for a full shift
- Able to stand for a full shift and lift and move rink equipment
- Reliable transportation to Vineyard
