Job Description: Location: Manchester Start Date: 1 July 2027 Duration: 13 months Start your career at the heart of the technology industry As a Sales Analyst Intern, you’ll join Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s UK & Ireland Commercial Sales organisation and gain first-hand experience of how a global technology company works with customers to solve business challenges and deliver meaningful outcomes. Based in our Manchester office, you’ll work closely with sales professionals and teams across the UK & Ireland, supporting customer strategy, sales opportunities and business performance. This is much more than a traditional support role. You’ll be encouraged to contribute ideas, take ownership of projects and develop the commercial skills that can help launch your future career. From analysing customer accounts and identifying opportunities to supporting live sales engagements, forecasting business performance and shadowing experienced sales professionals, you’ll gain broad exposure to the entire sales environment. You don’t need to arrive as a sales expert. We’re looking for people who are curious, ambitious, proactive and ready to learn. Your experience at HPE Your internship will give you exposure to the people, customers and technology shaping the future of business. You’ll have the opportunity to learn how successful sales teams operate, understand how we build relationships with customers and partners, and see how technology can help organisations tackle some of their biggest challenges. You’ll also join HPE’s wider Early Careers community, connecting with interns from across the UK & Ireland. Through our structured development programme and quarterly development days, you’ll build your network, develop important professional skills and learn alongside other early-career talent. You'll be supported throughout your placement by experienced colleagues, a designated mentor and our Early Careers team. You'll also receive a four-week handover from the current intern, helping you build confidence, understand the role and make an impact from the beginning. What you’ll do During your placement, you will: Support sales teams in managing and progressing customer opportunities. Build your understanding of HPE’s strategy, customers, technology portfolio and sales organisation. Conduct customer profiling, account mapping and analysis to help sellers identify new opportunities. Support forecasting, reporting and analysis of sales activity and business performance. Gain exposure to live sales cycles and shadow experienced sales professionals. Work alongside sellers on customer and partner initiatives, giving you real-world commercial experience. Contribute to projects across the wider Commercial Sales organisation, from customer initiatives to partner and corporate hospitality activities. Participate in team events, sales activities and projects designed to drive business success. Build relationships across HPE and develop a professional network that extends beyond your immediate team. Take increasing ownership and responsibility as your confidence and experience grow. What we’re looking for We’re looking for students who are motivated by learning, comfortable taking initiative and excited by the opportunity to build a career in the technology industry. To be eligible, you should: Be in the second year of a four-year degree that requires, or offers, a third-year industrial placement. On track for 2:1 or above. Be eligible to work in the UK and available to start the placement in July 2027 for 13 months. Have an interest in developing a career in sales, technology, business or commercial operations. Be proactive, curious and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment. Have strong written and verbal communication skills. Be organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Be comfortable using Microsoft Office. Experience with Excel and PowerPoint would be beneficial. Above all, we’re interested in your potential. You don’t need to know everything about enterprise technology or sales before joining us. We’re looking for people who are willing to learn, challenge themselves and make the most of the opportunity. What you can expect At HPE, an internship is an opportunity to learn, contribute and build the foundations of your future career. You can expect: A competitive salary. A modern, centrally located Manchester office. Hands-on experience within a global technology organisation. Exposure to customers, partners and experienced sales professionals. A structured Early Careers development programme. A dedicated mentor and ongoing support throughout your placement. Quarterly development days and opportunities to connect with interns across the UK & Ireland. A diverse, inclusive and collaborative working environment. Opportunities to build your professional network and explore potential future career paths. A culture that supports development, wellbeing and work-life balance.
