FULL TIMEREMOTEENGINEERING

Position Overview

We are seeking a Microsoft Power Platform Developer with hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing business solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform. The ideal candidate has established development skills and is comfortable working directly with clients, business stakeholders, and team members to translate business needs into practical, scalable solutions.

This role is well suited for a developer who can independently deliver defined solutions while continuing to grow their technical, consulting, and solution design capabilities. The Power Platform Developer will work with a diverse range of clients, from small and medium-sized organizations to large Fortune 100 enterprises, to develop solutions that improve business processes, automate manual activities, integrate data, and improve the overall user experience.

Working as part of a collaborative team, the developer will participate throughout the solution lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support. The role requires a combination of technical development skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective client communication.

Responsibilities

The Power Platform Developer will perform the following responsibilities, in addition to others as required for individual projects:

  • Understand business requirements and collaborate with clients and team members to design and develop effective Power Platform solutions.
  • Design and develop applications using Microsoft Power Apps, including Canvas Apps, SharePoint, Dataverse, and other appropriate data sources.
  • Develop automated business processes and integrations using Power Automate.
  • Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365 applications and standard connectors, including SharePoint, Excel, Forms, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Develop reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI, Power Query, and DAX as needed.
  • Design and implement appropriate data structures and data models to support business applications.
  • Participate in solution design discussions and contribute technical recommendations based on business and application requirements.
  • Modernize and re-engineer legacy or manual business processes using Power Platform technologies.
  • Develop solutions within established technical standards and architecture, collaborating with technical leads and other team members as needed.
  • Perform unit testing, troubleshoot application issues, and support user acceptance testing and deployment activities.
  • Communicate solution designs, development progress, technical considerations, and potential issues clearly with clients, project leads, and team members.
  • Build strong client relationships by communicating effectively, understanding business needs, and providing thoughtful recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain technical and user documentation, including process flows, solution designs, application documentation, and supporting diagrams.
  • Participate in peer reviews and collaborate with other developers to improve solution quality, consistency, and maintainability.
  • Provide post-deployment support, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to existing Power Platform solutions.

General Consultant Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Power Platform Developer position should have the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated professional experience designing and developing Microsoft Power Platform solutions in a business or consulting environment.
  • Hands-on development experience with Power Apps and Power Automate, with working knowledge of technologies such as SharePoint Online, Dataverse, Power BI, Excel, Forms, and Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to independently develop, test, troubleshoot, and support Power Platform solutions while collaborating with technical leads or other developers on more complex technical challenges.
  • Experience translating business requirements into practical application functionality and technical solutions.
  • Experience working in a client-facing, consulting, or professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
  • Understanding of application design concepts, data modeling, security, permissions, and integration approaches.
  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts, recommendations, issues, and progress to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in client meetings, technical discussions, presentations, and written documentation.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver quality work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong documentation skills, including the ability to document applications, processes, requirements, and technical solutions.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and expanding technical capabilities within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.
