Software Engineer II (Backend)
$120,000-$155,000 Base Salary, Position eligible for additional incentives including bonus, 401k match, health and welfare benefits.
Location: Hybrid working 3-days onsite per week at our San Diego, CA offices. (Please do not apply if you cannot work onsite in San Diego, CA in a hybrid position.)

Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer II with a strong background in JavaScript or TypeScript and extensive experience in API development to join our small but dynamic team. As a Software Engineer II, you will play a key role in implementing, and maintaining the server-side logic of our applications, ensuring seamless integration with front-end elements, third-party vendors, and supporting the overall functionality of our products.
Major Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs using TypeScript to support the functionality of our applications.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements using server-side logic.
- Integrate with third-party APIs to aggregate data from various sources.
Implement server-side logic using TypeScript, with a focus on Node.js and Next.js. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product, design, and third-party vendors, to prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality software.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and diagrams for codes and APIs, enabling seamless collaboration within the team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in backend development with Nodejs.
- Strong experience with TypeScript and frontend frameworks/libraries, such as React.
- Experience with Jest unit testing.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- From ideation, develop and deliver major infrastructure projects to production.
- Experience with deploying software in AWS environment.
- Experience in the financial or lending industry is a plus.
- Salesforce or other related CRM experience a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
