FULL TIMEPEOPLE & OPS

Commercial Construction Project Manager

Charlotte, NC

Build Complex Projects. Own the Process. Grow Your Career.

We are recruiting for a respected commercial general contractor that is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to join its Charlotte, North Carolina team.

With decades of success and a strong backlog of work, this company has built its reputation by delivering high-quality commercial projects while maintaining long-term relationships with both employees and clients. Nearly all of its work comes from repeat business - a testament to its commitment to quality, integrity, and exceptional service.

Unlike many large national contractors where responsibilities are highly specialized, this role offers the opportunity to manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, giving you ownership of the entire project lifecycle while working alongside an experienced leadership team.

If you're looking for a company that values long-term careers, collaboration, accountability, and doing the right thing, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a Commercial Construction Project Manager, you'll oversee multiple commercial construction projects while partnering closely with field leadership, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules while proactively managing critical path activities
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with contract documents
  • Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasting, job costs, and financial performance throughout each project
  • Lead owner, architect, engineer, and subcontractor coordination meetings
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and field personnel
  • Coordinate project logistics, procurement, and scheduling to keep projects moving efficiently
  • Oversee project quality control, commissioning activities, punch lists, as-built drawings, and closeout documentation
  • Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams to ensure smooth project transitions
  • Ensure OSHA safety standards and company safety expectations are consistently met
  • Visit active job sites regularly to support field teams and maintain project progress

  • Experience preparing RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, and subcontracts
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

  • Join a company with a strong backlog and long-term stability
  • Build relationships with repeat clients who value quality and service
