Job Description:
Cosworth are hiring for a Junior IT Technician to provide day-to-day technical support across the business, ensuring the effective operation of IT systems and equipment. Responsibilities include managing helpdesk requests, troubleshooting technical issues, administering user accounts and supporting IT projects. Working closely with the wider IT team, the role will contribute to maintaining reliable IT services across multiple sites.
The Role:
Responsible for managing the Helpdesk, resolve tickets or investigate and gather further information to pass on to secondary support engineers.
Administer user accounts in Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
Ensure all new starters have IT equipment and accounts ready for day one.
Process leavers ensuring data is archived and accounts are shut down.
Assist other team members in IT projects where required.
Deploy and configure mobile devices where required.
Assist with administration of backup tape rotation.
Deploy standard software to the company devices as required.
Support end-point-protection solution and identify and assist in resolving detected issues.
Perform additional IT related tasks as required based on training and experience.
Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.
Once suitably trained, the successful candidate will be expected to look after network and server hardware, applying firmware upgrades in planned maintenance windows and arrange swap out hardware with third parties on failures.
Candidate Profile:
Enthusiastic team player who can work well under pressure, either an ICT GCSE grade C or above, or an ICT college course.
Must have good troubleshooting skills and customer service mentality.
Must be prepared to work outside of normal working hours occasionally when required.
The role is predominantly based at our Northampton site however, the candidate must be prepared to operate remotely in support of several sites. Some travel between sites may be required.
