Work Set-up:
- Hybrid set-up
- October: On-site training in Singapore (travel provision included).
- November – December: Continuation of training on-site in Manila.
- Standard work arrangement resumes thereafter, in line with the assigned project’s requirements.
Requirements, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack features using React on the frontend and NestJS (Node.js/TypeScript) on the backend
- Architect scalable, well-tested APIs and services, and contribute to our data modeling and system design
- Own features from technical design through deployment and monitoring in production
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested TypeScript code and participate in code reviews
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and scalability challenges
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and help raise the technical bar across the team
- Contribute to engineering best practices, tooling, and CI/CD processes
- Familiarity and relevant experience with the insurance industry
- Conduct Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions and training for team members and stakeholders, including during the Singapore (October) and Manila (November–December) training engagements.
- Develop and deliver training materials, guides, and documentation to support upskilling and smooth knowledge handover.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with React (hooks, state management, component architecture)
- Strong hands-on experience with NestJS or a similar Node.js framework (Express, Fastify)
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript, with a solid grasp of type-safe design across frontend and backend
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
- Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
- Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or similar)
- Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
- Experience with microservices architecture and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.)
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal project portfolio
- Prior experience mentoring or leading engineers
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and driving successful project outcomes.
- Prior experience conducting Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions, training, or facilitation for teams and/or clients is highly preferred.
- Willingness and availability to travel to Singapore for training in October, and to continue training in Manila from November to December.
