The attendant keeps track of patient's behavior and reports the patient's condition to the assigned nurse. Essential Job Functions: Directly observes patient to maintain patient safety. Provides a safe environment for patients allowing the nurse to fulfill their duties. Creates diversion activities for patient to keep patient from acting out. Offers time, place and person orientation. Reports the patient's self-report/symptoms of pain promptly according to standard operating procedure. Transports and/or transfers patients within the unit. Identifies ligature risks and reports information to appropriate person(s). Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
