Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accountant to join our finance team and provide comprehensive accounting support. The ideal candidate will be adept at operating within the current JDE environment while possessing the agility and willingness to master the new Workday platform once implemented. Job Description: General Accounting & Reporting ● Knowledge in Fixed asset accounting and lease accounting ● Requires specialized conceptual and practical knowledge in own discipline or field and comprehensive understanding of related disciplines ● Solves complex and diverse problems ● Works independently, receives minimal guidance ● Leads projects or project steps within a broader or cross-functional project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives ● Contributes to process improvements ● Acts as a resource for and supports the development of colleagues with less experience ● Impacts the ongoing achievement of customer, operational, project/program or key business/organizational/service objectives and recommends improvements within area of responsibility ● Explains difficult or sensitive information to facilitate productive discussion; works to build consensus ● Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, adhering to local GAAP and corporate reporting requirements (IFRS/GAAP, if applicable). ● Assist with the preparation of local statutory financial statements and tax filings (VAT, corporate income tax support) in coordination with external advisors. ● Conduct financial analysis and variance explanations as required by management. ● Reconcile balance sheet accounts and provide explanations of changes to prior periods. ● Prepare month end journal entries (accruals) Performing analytical tasks, including P&L analysis and identifying variances month over month by reviewing the GL. ● Perform special analysis when needed for the director or managers ● Preparation of month-end results, analysis and reporting for various entities & branches ● Prepare non- financial data for reporting including analyzing and queries Compliance and Control ● Maintain accurate and organized financial records in compliance with company policies and local regulations. ● Ensure strong internal controls are followed and documented. ● Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. Skill set: Attention to detail, solid understanding of accounting & journal ledger concepts including booking of journal/accruals and expertise on account reconciliations. Working knowledge of JDE, Workday, Hyperion, PeopleSoft or well-known ERP systems. Sensitive data access: Yes Education & Qualifications (Required and Preferred): ● Bachelor’s degree in accounting / Postgraduate in Finance / Chartered Accountant (CA) /any other finance degree ● Minimum of 14+ years of experience in Finance & Accounting ● Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Excel (advanced or above advanced expertise) ● Prior knowledge of Randstad operations and systems is an asset Key Competencies: ● Demonstrated proficiency with JD Edwards (JDE) and Tagetik is preferred. ● Prior experience or strong familiarity with Workday Financials or similar cloud-based ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.). ● Team lead experience with the ability to motivate team members and drive required outcomes. ● Excellent knowledge and understanding of IFRS. ● Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. ● Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. Ability to work on large data set ● Prior exposure in managing month end closing and reporting ● Expertise in account reconciliation and research on “Open Items” ● Ability to work independently under pressure during the month end and quarterly closing ● Must be a team player/leader with ability to maintain a positive attitude in an extremely fast-paced environment ● Ability to effectively multi-task and manage multiple projects at once ● Flexibility is needed as the candidate might need to work for extra during month/quarter/year-end close ● Self-starter, energetic, enthusiastic and customer service focused ● Interested in learning and advancing career Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and escalate trends ● Critical and analytical thinking.
