Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to THINK OUTSIDE. Job Summary You will support the development, testing, and evaluation of CVT and transmission technologies within the Powertrain Development Lab. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and technical specialists to instrument vehicles, conduct laboratory and field testing, collect and analyze data, and support the integration of powertrain systems into vehicle applications. You will independently execute testing activities, maintain data quality, troubleshoot test-related issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and procedures. This position offers the opportunity to apply and expand your technical expertise while contributing directly to powertrain product development and validation programs. Key Responsibilities: • Setup, configure, maintain, and update test hardware, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems to support CVT, transmission, engine, and vehicle testing. • Conduct laboratory and field testing activities independently in support of engineering development and validation programs. • Operate and evaluate off-road vehicles in laboratory and field environments to assess powertrain performance, durability, and system behavior under intended operating conditions. • Collect, interpret, analyze, document, and maintain test data to support engineering decisions and product development activities. • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of all data generated during testing activities. • Operate chassis dynamometer equipment within a development test cell environment. • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems to identify and resolve testing, equipment, and instrumentation issues. • Create, maintain, and improve testing processes, methods, and procedures to support efficient and repeatable testing. • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA requirements and 5S practices. • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and development activities. Desired Competencies: • Accountability: You take ownership of your responsibilities, follow through on commitments, and hold yourself to high standards for quality and results. • Technical / Functional Expertise: You apply the required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise. • Problem Solving: You identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk. Qualifications: • Technical degree related to engines, powertrain systems, automotive technology, or a related field. • Minimum 3 years of experience with powertrain or vehicle testing. • Understanding of internal combustion engines, fuel injection systems, and engine controls. • Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic activities. • Fabrication, machining, and welding skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word. • Experience with vehicle electrical systems, wiring, and interpreting schematics preferred. • Exposure to ETAS INCA, AIM, or similar testing and data acquisition software preferred. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes and procedures. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely around machinery, engines, moving parts, and hazardous chemicals. • This position is not eligible for sponsorship. The starting pay range for Minnesota is $23.60 to $31.25 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime. Individual pay and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range. To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
