Position Summary: The Bariatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant cares for bariatric patients, working with surgeons, dietitians, and others in clinic, inpatient units, and the operating room settings. Evaluate candidates for bariatric surgery, including histories, physicals, and obesity-related conditions Order and interpret preoperative labs, imaging, and screening; coordinate clearances and insurance documentation Educate patients on procedures, preoperative diet, and lifestyle changes, and obtain informed consent Round on inpatients and manage postoperative care, pain, wounds, and complications such as leaks or strictures Provide long-term follow-up: weight loss, nutrition, vitamin and mineral monitoring, and medication adjustments Manage comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, and sleep apnea as they change after surgery Assist in the operating room and perform credentialed bedside and clinic procedures Document accurately, and support program quality and accreditation data Location: This is a full-time position based at the Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, Missouri.
