Job Description: The Patient Care and Observation Technician (PCOT) performs selected patient care tasks, under the direction of a licensed nurse, to assist in the delivery of patient care. Performs, when necessary, clerical duties and assists the Emergency Center/Inpatient staff in maintaining records and completing reports. Coordinates communications between Emergency Center/Inpatient staff, the patient, and interdisciplinary departments. Is accountable for all patient care in the Emergency Center/Inpatient Departments.
