Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips Working for tomorrow today. Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics. Your Role With us, you have the opportunity to perfectly combine your studies with practical experience while actively contributing to exciting projects. This allows you to gain valuable skills, expand your network, and grow both professionally and personally. In this internship, you will work on the analysis of thermal effects and flow phenomena in vacuum environments. Your main focus will be on experimental investigations of pressure and temperature effects as well as on the further development of measurement and data evaluation methods. Investigate thermal effects as a function of pressure in vacuum conditions Perform measurements of pressure and temperature distributions on experimental test setups Analyze the interaction between inflowing gases and local temperature fields Support the setup, calibration, and qualification of measurement systems (e.g. miniature pressure sensors) Assist with data acquisition and data analysis Optional: Contribute to optical measurement techniques (e.g. BOS - Background-Oriented Schlieren method for flow visualization) Your Profile Ongoing studies in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, or a comparable field Strong interest in thermal systems, fluid mechanics, or vacuum technology Independent and well-structured working style Initial experience with experimental work is an advantage Basic skills in the analysis of measurement data (e.g. MATLAB, Python, or similar) are desirable Technical understanding of sensors, experimental setups, or electronic components is beneficial, as well as a solid understanding of physical principles Sounds exciting? Then become part of #teamZEISS and help us shape the future! Please provide your complete application documents (CV, transcript of records, etc.). Your ZEISS Recruiting Team: Verena Hald Step out of your comfort zone, excel and redefine the limits of what is possible. That’s just what our employees are doing every single day – in order to set the pace through our innovations and enable outstanding achievements. After all, behind every successful company are many great fascinating people. In a spacious modern setting full of opportunities for further development, ZEISS employees work in a place where expert knowledge and team spirit reign supreme. All of this is supported by a special ownership structure and the long-term goal of the Carl Zeiss Foundation: to bring science and society into the future together. Join us today. Inspire people tomorrow. Diversity is a part of ZEISS.
