Beale Infrastructure

Seattle, WA

Director of Tax.

LEADERSHIPFINANCE & LEGAL$240K–270K/YR

Company Overview

Beale Infrastructure Group is a rapidly growing developer and owner of next-generation digital infrastructure assets, focused on delivering hyperscale data center campuses for leading global technology companies. The Company specializes in complex, large-scale projects that require significant coordination across land acquisition, power procurement, utility partnerships, and construction execution.

Operating at the intersection of real estate, energy, and technology, Beale’s platform is designed to address the increasing demand for high-capacity, energy-efficient data infrastructure driven by cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and enterprise digital transformation. The Company partners closely with utilities and local communities to secure reliable power solutions and enable long-term, sustainable development.

Backed by Blue Owl Capital’s Real Assets platform, Beale benefits from deep institutional capital, a disciplined investment approach, and an experienced leadership team with a proven track record in digital infrastructure development. The Company is in a high-growth phase, with an expanding pipeline of projects across key U.S. markets.

Position Overview

Beale Infrastructure Group is seeking a strategic, commercially minded Director of Tax to build and lead the tax function for our expanding portfolio of data center development projects. Operating under a private equity ownership structure, Beale Infrastructure Group sits at the intersection of digital infrastructure, energy, and real estate. This role is of particular importance as Beale manages a growing portfolio of projects across multiple jurisdictions and increasingly complex entity structures, including real estate entities, taxable REIT subsidiaries and operating companies.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, commercially minded tax leader who can operate beyond traditional tax compliance and partner closely with finance, accounting, development, construction, legal and external advisors while also supporting the ownership’s needs. We are looking for someone who enjoys building processes, teams and systems from the ground up!

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Cross Functional Partnership

  • Serve as Beale’s internal tax subject matter expert. Build scalable tax processes and infrastructure appropriate for a rapidly growing organization.
  • Manage and coordinate external tax advisors, attorneys and consultants.
  • Translate complex tax issues into clear business recommendations for executive leadership.
  • Interface with private equity finance & tax teams to support fund-level tax structuring, financial modeling, and investor-level reporting.

REIT Governance & Entity Structuring

  • Provide tax oversight of Beale’s REIT and TRS structures and related transactions.
  • Monitor REIT qualification requirements and potential tax risks.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors on REIT compliance and structuring matters.

Development & Tax Incentives

  • Provide tax guidance throughout the development lifecycle from site acquisition through construction, tenant lease execution and asset disposition.
  • Drive fixed asset tax optimization for large-scale capital projects, including cost segregation studies, depreciation planning, asset classification, and capitalization analysis.
  • Obtain a detailed understanding of the development incentives, energy related incentives, property tax incentives, sale/use tax exemptions and other project specific benefits that apply to Beale’s portfolio. Establish processes to ensure incentives are
incorporated into project financial models and fully realized throughout project lifecycles.
  • Advise on commercial contracts, equipment purchases, vendor arrangements, and customer lease agreements.

Compliance, Reporting Oversight

  • Oversee the tax compliance function and applicable tax returns. Manage, direct, and optimize performance of top-tier third-party accounting firms, law firms, and valuation specialists.
  • Establish appropriate tax processes, controls, calendars and documentation as the Company scales.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience with a mix of experience in public accounting and corporate tax departments.
  • Experience in real estate, construction, private equity, fund structures, or a related industry. Strong foundation in multiple-entity structures.
  • Practical expertise in REIT tax compliance, cost segregation, and fixed asset strategies for capital-heavy assets (data centers, digital infrastructure, energy, or real estate).
  • Direct experience with transaction structuring and managing third-party advisors.
    • Comfortable working in the details while building scalable processes for the organization.
    • Proven ability to collaborate across business units, build trust and communicate
across various audiences ranging from institutional sponsor teams to onside
      construction teams.
