Gathers and analyzes data to formulate initial nursing care and discharge plans. Identifies and reports patient condition abnormalities to anesthesia or surgeon. Observes and assesses assigned patients during their stay in the outpatient surgery department. Documents medications, drug allergies, and patient information. Implements and documents nursing interventions and physician's orders accurately and promptly. Prepares and administers medications, IV fluids, and blood products according to orders and hospital policy. Coordinates scheduling and preparation for various procedures. Communicates with patients and families, providing pre-op and post-op education and addressing their needs. Utilizes the Computerized Physician Order entry process and proficiently uses the Electronic Medical Record for retrieval of patient information. Maintains a safe environment by checking equipment, stocking supplies, and reporting safety concerns. Participates in professional development and maintain required certifications and competencies. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: High level of organizational skills. [Required] Computer skills required. [Required] Education: Associate's of Nursing [Required] Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred] Work Experience: 1+ previous experience as RN on surgical floor or recovery room, preferably surgical unit [Required] Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) [Required] Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required] Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred] Clinical Ladder Levels: Grow with us. Eligible clinicians have the opportunity to earn salary increases of up to 20%* through our Clinical Ladder Program based on experience, professional development, and achievement of advancement criteria. Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.
