Job Title Master Thesis – Shaping Sound: How Modular Speaker Design Affects Acoustic Performance Job Description Category Mechanics, Product Development, Technical Design. Scope Two students completing a master thesis, 30 hp each. Background At Axis New Business Audio, we develop network audio products for security and other applications. A line-array speaker combines multiple drivers whose sound waves interact to create a particular sound distribution. In a modular design, differences in the position of driver and chamber assemblies may affect how these sound waves combine. Goal The aim of this thesis is to investigate how variations in the height and depth position of modular assemblies affect the acoustic performance of a line-array speaker. The work will explore the relationship between mechanical tolerances and factors such as frequency response, phase interaction and sound coverage. The project may include physical prototyping and CAD, acoustic measurements, analysis of positional variations, and collaboration with mechanical – and audio engineers. Who are you? Students interested in acoustics, product development, mechanical design, studying Mechanical Engineering, Product Development and/or Technical Design. OK, I am interested! What do I do now? You are valuable to us – how nice that you are interested in one of our proposals! There are a few things for you to keep in mind when applying. Applications are accepted in both Swedish and English, and you apply via the proposal advert. The announced thesis is open only to students affiliated with a Swedish University/College either directly or via an exchange program. When the thesis proposal states that it includes two students working together, we would like you to apply in pairs. In these cases, send one application each but make sure to clearly state in your application who your co-applicant is. If you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us. Please attach your CV and University/College grade summary. Who to contact for any questions regarding the position!
