Position Summary: Tantor Media is looking for a detail-oriented professional who loves to read and is invested in learning about the audiobook publishing industry. This is a full-time position (40 hours weekly) and will report directly to the Pre-Production Manager. This opening is available to internal and external applicants.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
· The primary responsibility for this role is to support the Pre-Production Manager and Publications Operations Manager with the objective of managing tasks associated with the production of a high volume of audiobook projects annually. The organization and time-management aspects of this role are pivotal to keeping production running smoothly and within time and budget deadlines.
o Assist the Pre-Production Manager and Editorial team with manuscript preparation
o Assist with production administrative duties, including but not limited to invoicing and data entry
o Assist troubleshooting production workflow issues
o All around project support for other key production departments when needed
Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in English, Communications, Journalism or other related fields
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task
· Strong written and verbal communication and follow-up skills
· Motivated self-starter with a constant desire to meet and exceed goals and deadlines
· Ability to work independently and effectively with internal departments, external contacts, and industry professionals, using diplomacy and creative solutions when problem-solving
· Can comfortably adapt to changes and priority shifts and anticipate needs once familiar with the role
Preferred skills/knowledge but not required:
· Familiarity with Adobe Pro
· Publishing/audiobook production experience
· Interest in audiobooks

The Production Assistant must be able to conduct work in the state of CT including out of the Tantor Media headquarters in Old Saybrook, CT.
