As our Landscape Outside Sales Representative & Designer, you’ll manage the complete design and sales process from initial consultations through proposal presentation—creating award-winning landscape designs that drive installations and maintenance services across communities in La Crosse, WI and Winona, MN. This position offers the perfect blend of creative design work and client relationship building. Purpose
Drive landscape installation sales across residential and commercial projects by conducting client consultations, creating compelling designs, and converting prospects into signed contracts. Leverage technology, AI-assisted design tools, and collaborative resources to improve efficiency, enhance the client experience, and achieve profitable project outcomes while identifying opportunities for maintenance and additional services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site consultations, assess residential and commercial properties, and create professional landscape designs and proposals using design software
- Present design concepts to clients with compelling storytelling and convert consultations to signed contracts
- Utilize AI-powered tools to enhance the sales and design process, including concept development, visual renderings, presentations, proposal preparation, and idea generation.
- Explore, evaluate, and implement emerging AI technologies and design tools to continuously improve creativity, productivity, and the overall client experience.
- Collaborate with a virtual design assistant to delegate and coordinate appropriate design tasks, communicate project requirements, review deliverables, and ensure designs meet client expectations and company standards.
- Manage design revisions and approvals to meet client expectations and project timelines
- Collaborate with other Client Guides and Landscape Operations Manager to ensure designs are buildable and profitable
- Discover, learn, and integrate AI tools to enhance the sales and design process including presentations, renderings, and idea generation
- Generate new leads through networking, referrals, and upselling complementary services including maintenance services, fencing, decking, irrigation, etc.
- Maintain accurate records in company systems and provide seamless handoff to installation crews with detailed specifications
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of residential and commercial landscape design and sales experience with proven track record of closing projects
- Proficiency with landscape design software and the ability to learn new technology efficiently.
- Strong understanding of landscape installation and maintenance practices, plant materials, and hardscaping techniques.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to influence and persuade.
- Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to communicate design direction, provide constructive feedback, and coordinate work with remote team members.
- Comfortable learning, adopting, and utilizing AI-powered tools to improve design and sales workflows.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field preferred but not required

Work Environment
