Overview of the Role
DFC is currently recruiting for our 2027 Summer Placement positions.As part of our long-term growth strategy, we offer a number of summer placements each year to students interested in fire safety engineering.
We are seeking students to join our team of over 50 skilled fire engineers. During your placement, you will be involved in live projects at the concept, design, and construction stages.
DFC prides itself on the continuing investment, training, and development of our team. Throughout your placement, you will receive guidance and support to help develop your understanding of fire safety engineering.

Suitability
To thrive in this role, you should have the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:- Currently studying towards a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) field, with at least one academic year remaining after completing the placement.
- An ongoing interest in the developing fire engineering industry.
- The ability to solve problems, enable the new, and question the ‘norm’.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- The willingness to learn, develop, and respond positively to feedback.
- The ability to adapt, multitask, and take pride in one’s work.
- The ability to converse technically in English with precision and clarity.
