We make the world better with data
The Woodmark Group is a leading consulting organization specializing in AI, data, and analytics. We inspire people through our passion for data and innovation while supporting organizations on their digital transformation journey. Living our values of respect, openness, trust, and care fosters an excellent corporate culture and forms the foundation of our success.Your diverse range of responsibilities
Together with your team, you’ll develop cutting-edge AI solutions for our clients, from the initial requirements through cloud architecture to production deployment. Your focus will be on generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and agent-based applications. In this role, you’ll combine a technical understanding of architecture with hands-on software development and implement solutions primarily on AWS, but also on Azure.Understanding Requirements and Designing Solutions: Working closely with our clients and business units, you will analyze requirements, identify suitable AI use cases, and translate them into concrete technical solutions. You will assess feasibility, select appropriate technologies, and develop scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures.
Develop and Integrate AI Solutions: You’ll develop AI applications based on modern foundation models and cloud services such as Amazon Bedrock. In doing so, you’ll utilize technologies such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and tool calling. You’ll integrate AI functionalities into existing enterprise systems via APIs and interfaces and ensure that the necessary data is provided securely and reliably. For more complex data requirements, you’ll work closely with our data engineering specialists.
Bringing Cloud Engineering and DevOps to Life: You’ll implement your architectural concepts in code yourself. Using Python, Infrastructure as Code, and modern DevOps practices, you’ll develop automated, reproducible, and maintainable solutions. From the very beginning, you’ll take into account requirements for security, performance, monitoring, scalability, and cost.
Take on responsibility: You’ll assume technical responsibility for smaller projects or subprojects and oversee AI solutions from conception through to production. You’ll make well-informed architectural and technology decisions, challenge existing approaches, and support less experienced team members as a technical sparring partner.
Communication is the key to everything: You are constantly engaged in an intensive exchange with
- the departments and architects for project-related coordination
- your clients, to ensure transparency in architectural decisions and manage expectations
- your project team, to ensure technical excellence and project success
- the Woodmark team, to share knowledge about AI architectures, cloud patterns, and best practices
What you bring to the table
Project Experience: You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in software development or cloud engineering, and ideally have already designed and implemented AI applications in client projects. You understand how applications, data, cloud infrastructure, and AI services interact, and can use this knowledge to independently develop technical solutions.
Expertise goes without saying: You have
- Excellent knowledge of Python and experience developing professional software application
- Solid hands-on experience with AWS and the design and implementation of cloud architectures
- Experience with generative AI, large language models, and the integration of foundation models into applications, ideally using Amazon Bedrock
- Knowledge of modern AI architectures and technologies such as RAG, vector databases, AI agents, and tool calling
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation
- Strong knowledge of modern software engineering and DevOps practices, particularly Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment
- Experience developing and integrating APIs, as well as connecting various data sources and enterprise systems
- Understanding of security, IAM, monitoring, performance, scalability, and cost optimization in cloud environments
- Ideally, additional experience with Azure, container technologies, or AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or comparable solutions
Understanding of architecture and a hands-on approach: You can translate business requirements into technical architectures and are also capable of implementing them yourself. You think in terms of comprehensive solutions, understand technical dependencies, and prioritize software that is maintainable, secure, and production-ready.
Intrinsic interest in AI innovations: You actively follow developments in generative AI and agentic AI, experiment with new technologies, and can assess which approaches offer added value in real-world client projects.
A stakeholder-oriented approach helps us move forward: You enjoy working with clients, business units, and technical contacts. You can document requirements in a structured manner, take different perspectives into account, and explain complex technical issues in a way that’s easy to understand.
Support the “Making-of-a-Star” initiative: You'll actively help other Woodmarkers develop AI and cloud skills and share your experience and knowledge with the team.
Fluency in German and English: You are comfortable working on German-language projects and can clearly present technical documentation and architectural concepts in English as well.
