About Vitestro

Founded in 2017 in Utrecht, Vitestro is pioneering the future of blood collection with the Aletta® Autonomous Robotic Phlebotomy Device™ (ARPD™). This groundbreaking medical device combines advanced multi-modal imaging (near-infrared, ultrasound, and Doppler ultrasound) with robotics and AI to perform the entire diagnostic blood draw procedure autonomously.

By addressing critical healthcare staffing shortages and improving patient experience, Vitestro is transforming one of the most common and essential medical procedures. With more than 130 team members and growing rapidly, we are scaling our impact. As we placed our first devices with customers, we are now expanding our team to ensure successful implementation and long-term reliability.

At Vitestro, we are committed to continuous innovation and improvement.

Head of European Commercial

As Head of European Commercial, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will lead Vitestro's commercial growth across Europe and the UK while supporting future expansion into select international markets, such as the Middle East. You will develop new business, build a high-performing European sales organization, and establish the Aletta® Autonomous Robotic Phlebotomy Device™ (ARPD™) as the leading autonomous blood collection solution.

Your initial priorities will include business development, customer acquisition, sales execution, commercial operations, and Customer Service. Customer Success, which includes Implementation and Optimization and Customer Care (Technical and Field Service), as well as Marketing, will remain outside this role's direct reporting structure.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the commercial strategy of one of Europe's most innovative medical technology companies. Success will be measured by commercial adoption, revenue growth, sales-team performance, strategic customer partnerships, forecast accuracy, and the scalable commercial foundation established for Vitestro's long-term international expansion.

First months at Vitestro

In your first months, you will immerse yourself in Vitestro’s technology, clinical evidence, customers, priority markets, team, and active commercial pipeline. You will assess current opportunities, personally engage in the most strategic accounts, and align the European commercial strategy, market priorities, and execution plan with the Chief Commercial Officer and cross-functional leadership.

You will establish disciplined opportunity qualification, account planning, pipeline governance, forecasting, and commercial performance reporting in HubSpot. At the same time, you will clarify organizational roles and performance expectations, coach the existing team, define priority hiring needs, establish the Customer Service operating model, and strengthen coordination with Customer Success, Marketing, Clinical and Medical Affairs, Product Management, Operations, Regulatory, Quality, and Finance.

This Is What Success Looks Like

After 12 months, you have delivered measurable commercial growth against the approved European plan, personally advanced and closed strategic new business, and established meaningful momentum across priority markets in Europe and the UK.

You have built a qualified pipeline to support continued growth, strengthened executive relationships with hospitals, health systems, and laboratory organizations, and developed early customers into referenceable partners with opportunities for account and site expansion.

You have built and developed a high-performing European commercial team, implemented rigorous and reliable commercial processes, established a scalable Customer Service function, and created strong cross-functional alignment from customer acquisition through implementation, adoption, and ongoing support.

What You'll Bring

  • Master's degree in business administration, life sciences, or a related field.

  • 10-15 years of progressive sales and commercial leadership experience in medical technology, including responsibility for a regional or multi-country business.

  • Demonstrated success building, scaling, and leading high-performing commercial organizations from initial market development through broader adoption.

  • Proven individual and team-based sales success with capital equipment, healthcare technology, robotics, or other complex medical solutions that combine an initial capital investment with recurring pay-per-use, service, and/or consumable revenue.

  • Expertise leading complex, multi-stakeholder healthcare CAPEX sales cycles, including opportunity qualification, consultative and value-based selling, business-case development, contract negotiation, and closing.

  • Strong executive presence and the ability to build credibility with C-suite, clinical, laboratory, operational, IT and LIS, financial, and procurement stakeholders.

  • Ability to translate clinical, quality, safety, operational, and economic benefits into compelling customer value propositions and investment cases.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish forecasting discipline, pipeline governance, account planning, performance metrics, and effective CRM practices.

  • A player-coach mentality and hands-on, field-oriented leadership style, with demonstrated success operating as both an individual contributor and a commercial leader.

  • Excellent leadership, coaching, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional, international environment.

  • Fluency in Dutch and English.

  • Ability to work primarily from Vitestro's corporate office in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% initially, increasing to 50% or more as Vitestro expands across Europe.

Nice to Have

  • Commercial experience in laboratory medicine, diagnostics, laboratory automation, or closely related technologies.

  • Experience launching disruptive or first-of-its-kind medical technologies.

  • Experience working in an early-stage or rapidly scaling company.

  • Fluency in one or more additional European languages.

How We Work

At Vitestro, ownership is not a slogan, it is an expectation. We trust people to take responsibility, make decisions, and drive work forward.

We believe breakthroughs happen when talented people combine dedication, accountability, and teamwork. That means:

  • We take initiative rather than wait for direction.

  • We focus on execution and delivering results.

  • We proactively remove blockers and help each other succeed.

  • We challenge ideas, not people.

  • We continuously learn, improve, and raise the bar.

  • We celebrate team success over individual heroics.

We move fast, but we do so thoughtfully. We care deeply about quality because the technology we build ultimately impacts patients and healthcare professionals.

If you are looking for an environment where you can make a significant contribution, take ownership of meaningful work, and be surrounded by highly motivated colleagues, we'd love to meet you.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to shape the European commercial strategy of one of Europe's most innovative medical technology companies.

  • A leadership role with significant influence on Vitestro's growth and commercial organization.

  • Competitive salary, annual bonus, Vitestro's Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP), and long-term incentive opportunities.

  • Comprehensive pension and benefits package.

  • Annual professional development and leadership training opportunities.

  • 25 vacation days based on full-time employment.

  • Regular team outings and social activities.

We are big fans of working from the office, this is where team spirit comes alive. This role is primarily based at Vitestro's corporate office in Utrecht and requires approximately 25% travel initially, increasing to 50% or more as we expand across Europe.

Are you excited?

If you believe you can make a meaningful contribution, we encourage you to apply. We would welcome the opportunity to learn more about your experience, leadership style, and interest in helping shape the future of autonomous blood collection.
