The Senior Financial Accountant supports the daily financial operations of the International F&A department, contributing to the seamless functioning of the accounting processes for all company entities & supporting junior team members.
What will you be bringing to the team?
- Lead the month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring compliance with policies and deadlines.
- Review and analyze aging reports and take proactive action on overdue items.
- Manage bank and petty cash reconciliations.
- Prepare and review VAT, EC, VIES, and other tax declarations, ensuring timely submission and accuracy.
- Perform balance sheet and P&L variance analyses and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Support the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives within accounting.
- Mentor and support junior team members in daily activities & facilitate knowledge exchange.
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP.
- Assist in preparing the quarterly financial reporting
Requirements
What do you need to succeed in this position?
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes.
- Proven proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and strong Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation abilities.
- Strong understanding of tax and VAT principles applicable in EU jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of IAS/ IFRS will be considered a plus.
- Excellent use of English, both written and verbal.
- Good command of French is desirable.
