Join Aampere, a seed-stage, VC-backed startup redefining the European market for used electric vehicles. Since our launch, we’ve enabled EV owners to sell their cars quickly and seamlessly within 48 hours, while giving dealers across Europe access to previously untapped customer segments.Our team comes from the German startup ecosystem, with experience at Autarc, Greenforce, Cardino, Wemolo, Remberg, Alasco, Porsche, Mercedes, and KPMG.
Your Mission
You’ll take ownership of the backend behind Aampere’s platform, right where we need it most. You build and maintain the services, APIs and data models our product runs on, connect third-party systems and keep async workflows like background jobs, retries and scheduled syncs running reliably. When a feature needs it, you ship the frontend part too, so it goes live end to end. That’s how you make our backend the solid foundation for Europe’s used EV market.
To get there, you shape how our systems are structured and scale, ship to production on AWS and fix problems at the root instead of patching symptoms. You use AI tools like Cursor and Claude Code as a real lever for speed and quality and connect technical decisions to outcomes like conversion, speed and automation. With clean architecture and reliable processes, you lay the groundwork for our platform and team to grow.
What you bring
- 5+ years building production systems with a clear backend focus, strong in TypeScript, Nest.js, MikroORM, PostgreSQL and Docker.
- You’ve owned APIs, data models and third-party integrations, from schema design and efficient queries to clean interfaces that scale.
- You’ve built reliable async workflows with BullMQ/Redis and AWS SQS: background jobs, retries, scheduled syncs and idempotent consumers.
- You ship features end to end, including frontend work with Next.js, React and Tailwind, and have experience running them on AWS with GitLab CI/CD.
- You take ownership without waiting to be told and connect technical decisions to business outcomes like conversion, speed and automation.
- You work AI-native with tools like Cursor and Claude Code and communicate clearly in English. German is a plus.

Aampere isn't for you if...
- … you want to work mostly remotely. We believe the best ideas happen when people are in the same room. That’s why you’ll be with us in the office at least four days a week.
- ... you want to walk into ready-made processes and structures. A lot of that does not exist here yet. We are looking for people who build structures and processes, not people who administer them.
- … you need a finished plan before you start. Seed stage means a lot is unclear and changes week to week. You have to be comfortable making decisions in the dark and correcting course as you go.
- … you want to stay in your lane. “That is not my job” is not a thing here. You jump in where it matters, even when it sits outside your job description.
- … you want a classic 9-to-5. We are building something big, and that does not happen on the side. The people here want to go all in, not just put in the time.
