As a Quitline Coach, you’ll play an important role in supporting individuals who are ready to stop smoking and improve their health. This position requires evening and weekend availability. The selected candidate will work either a Saturday or Sunday shift as part of their regular schedule. Evening shifts may be scheduled Monday through Thursday, with hours ranging from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM or 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The call center operates until 9:00 PM, and no shifts extend beyond that time. In this position, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for people reaching out to the New York State Smokers’ Quitline. Through compassionate conversations, education, and encouragement, you’ll help callers navigate their quit journey while connecting them with the resources and support they need. Associate’s degree in an appropriate field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in a call center, customer service, or healthcare; or 2. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in a call center, customer service, or healthcare. NOTE: 1. Must be a current non-smoker. 2. Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
