This is an opportunity to work on some of the most challenging, high-precision components in the aerospace, defense, and semiconductor industries. You'll be responsible for independently setting up multi-axis CNC milling machines, working with complex geometries, tight tolerances, and a variety of challenging materials.

2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM–1:00 AM

  • Four 10-hour shifts
  • Fridays off
  • Overtime opportunities available

Why Join Us?

  • High-End Precision Machining: Work on complex aerospace, defense, and semiconductor components that require advanced machining skills and attention to detail.
  • Modern Manufacturing Environment: Work in a clean, climate-controlled, 30,000-square-foot facility with advanced CNC machining equipment.
  • Challenging, Technical Work: Go beyond repetitive production and work with complex setups, tight tolerances, multi-axis machining, and difficult materials.
  • Career Growth: Join a company that invests in its machinists, encourages continued learning, and offers opportunities to advance into more technical and leadership-oriented positions.
  • Established, Employee-Focused Company: Join a team with decades of manufacturing experience, a strong reputation, and a commitment to taking care of its employees.
  • Overtime Opportunities: Additional overtime available for those looking to increase their earnings.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently set up multi-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture complex, tight-tolerance components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T requirements, and 3D CAD models to plan and execute accurate setups.
  • Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding solutions appropriate for each job.
  • Perform setups involving 3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis milling operations.
  • Make tooling, offset, and machining adjustments to improve part quality and maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Perform first article and in-process inspections using micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machining problems involving tooling, feeds and speeds, workholding, and dimensional tolerances.
  • Work closely with CNC programmers, manufacturing engineers, and quality personnel to improve machining processes.
  • Document setup procedures, tooling requirements, and machining adjustments to support repeatability.
  • Support less-experienced machinists and operators when needed.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on CNC milling setup experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to independently set up CNC mills, not just operate machines.
  • Experience reading complex engineering drawings and interpreting GD&T.
  • Hands-on experience with Fanuc-controlled CNC milling machines.
  • Familiarity with multi-axis machining, including 3+2 and 5-axis setups.
  • Strong understanding of cutting tools, workholding, feeds and speeds, and machining fundamentals.
  • Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, or other challenging materials.
  • Ability to perform first article inspections and verify tight-tolerance dimensions.
  • Comfortable working independently and troubleshooting machining issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with complex, low-volume or prototype machining.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards.
