Join Fulton Hogan as a Trainee Sprayer Operator in Christchurch and learn the ropes in a team that backs each other to do good work. You’ll train under supervision to operate a bitumen sprayer for spray sealing and support the team to deliver work safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard. This is a great opportunity for someone practical, reliable, and ready to learn. We’ll support you to build the skills, licences, and industry knowledge you need to grow. Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities Train to operate the bitumen sprayer and support spray sealing works under supervision. Complete pre-starts, plant checks, and general site tasks as directed by your Supervisor or Foreman. Follow safety, environmental, and quality processes, and speak up when something does not look right. Help deliver bituminous products, spread aggregate, roll, and support day-to-day sealing operations. Contribute to a safe, tidy, and well-run worksite while learning how the programme of work comes together. Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with A Full Class 1 licence is required; a Class 2 licence and Dangerous Goods endorsement are preferred. WTR endorsements, NZIHT Bitumen Sprayer Operator, and NZIHT Plant and Tanker Operator qualifications, or willingness to work towards them with our support. Mechanical aptitude and a practical approach to hands-on work. A strong focus on safety, reliability, and following instructions. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the kind of team-first approach that makes you a good sort to work with.
