CONTRACT
Purpose. Performance. People. Joining CPP Investments means joining one of the world’s most admired and respected institutional investors to drive a single mandate: to deliver strong, sustainable returns for generations of Canadians. With a long-term horizon and global reach, we deploy capital at scale across public and private markets. Our size, stability, and disciplined investment philosophy allow us to pursue complex opportunities and build enduring partnerships worldwide. For our people, this means meaningful work with tangible impact, real opportunity, and collaboration with exceptional colleagues who value partnership and performance. Here, you’ll contribute to outcomes that matter alongside team members committed to excellence and shared success. The Role As an Analyst, Expense Operations, you will support the oversight of CPP Investments’ centralized global expense processing and payment activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to established policies and controls. You will contribute to cash management activities, general ledger accounting, and monthly financial close processes while collaborating with Finance teams and stakeholders across the organization to support efficient operations and continuous improvement. The Team Expense Operations supports centralized global expense processing, payments, cash management, and related accounting activities at CPP Investments, helping ensure accurate and timely financial operations. Accountabilities Support daily global expense processing and payment activities, including reviewing and approving vendor invoices, employee expenses, and expense-related journal entries in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assist with global payment and cash management activities, including jurisdiction-specific payment requirements, bank account administration, cash forecasting, and excess cash management. Support general ledger accounting and month-end close activities, including accounts payable subledger close, variance analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. Collaborate with Finance teams to provide analysis, documentation, and inputs for month-end close, tax filings, management reporting, and financial reporting. Respond to expense-related inquiries from internal stakeholders and auditors, providing timely and accurate information. Promote understanding and consistent application of accounts payable policies, systems, and procedures, including contributing to training materials. Partner with Finance and cross-functional stakeholders to identify process gaps, resolve operational issues, and implement improvements that support business needs, governance, and effective controls. What You Bring An undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field. At least 2 years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, with an interest in learning new systems and technologies. Experience with India-based accounts payable processes including India withholding tax would be an asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess information, consider multiple factors, and recommend practical solutions. You are motivated to contribute to something larger than yourself, approach complex challenges with rigor, and hold yourself to high standards in a collaborative, performance-driven environment. We provide colleagues with cutting-edge AI tools, dedicated learning time, and practical support to help them deliver with greater impact.
