About the Position:
- Full Time Monday to Friday, wokring 38 hours per week, 2PM to 10PM with potential overtime
- 17.5% Shift Loading in accordance with the Peter Cochrane Management EA 2018
- 13.5% Superannuation
Cochrane’s Transport is seeking a reliable and motivated Full-Time Freight Handler to join our team at our Gillman Depot.
Working in a fast-paced transport and logistics environment, you’ll play an important role in keeping our freight moving safely and efficiently across our network. You’ll be responsible for sorting, loading and unloading freight while working closely with our operations team to ensure deliveries are handled with care and arrive where they need to.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, being part of a team and contributing to the day-to-day success of a busy transport operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading freight from trucks and trailers
- Sorting and staging freight for dispatch
- Operating pallet jacks and forklifts (desirable)
- Ensuring freight is handled safely and efficiently
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Following all workplace health and safety procedures
About You:
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks and lift heavy items
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Forklift license (preferred but not essential)
- Previous experience in freight handling or warehousing (advantageous)
