Summary We are seeking a Mechanical Designer with experience to develop and improve mechanical designs using 2D and 3D software. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. Job Responsibilities Solves complex problems Does Mechanical Designs using 3D and 2D software's Works independently; receives minimal guidance May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements Takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies Promote personal accountability for Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) by adhering to the principles and guidelines outlined in HMH's HSSE governing policy Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience) Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant professional level experience as Engineer or Designer Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, 3D modeling, and technical drafting. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or AutoCAD. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, develop manufacturing documentation, and support production activities. Knowledge of GD&T, BOM management, and manufacturing processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and HSSE standards.
