Patient Education: • Provides patients/families with education related to the disease process, health, and wellness. Serves as a resource for community agencies as appropriate. Documentation: • Ensures timely and accurate documentation of patient status and patient care activities including treatments, procedures and medications prescribed. Continuing Education: • Ensures clinical competence and stays abreast of changes in medical management by participating in a variety of health care education activities. Knowledge Skills and Abilities • Maintains and enhances knowledge and skills in current technology and practice to provide care to appropriate population. • This position has primary responsibility for a wide variety of patient care activities. • The incumbent must have the ability to work without close supervision, exercise independent judgment in a professional area, organize multiple tasks and maintain control of work flow. • The incumbent is expected to display professional demeanor at all times. • The incumbent should also promote harmonious, cooperative working relationships with clinic personnel, physicians, patients, families and others. • Maintaining confidentiality of patient information is essential.
