Position Details: Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure. Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements. Experience: Can be new or experienced LPN. Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. NOTE: One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: • ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) • Six Assessment & Care Modules • Other unit-specific certifications as required. Physical Requirements/Demands: Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds. Preferred Certifications: IV Certification within 1 year of hire. Physical Requirements: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes.
