Marketing Cloud & AI enablement: Lead development and optimisation across Marketing Cloud, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, AMPscript and SQL, while staying informed about Agentforce, Einstein, Data Cloud and other AI capabilities. Hands-on technical leadership: Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root-cause analysis, provide production support and continuously improve performance, scalability, reliability, security and engineering quality across the Salesforce ecosystem. Quality assurance & engineering practices: Apply secure coding practices, peer review, unit testing, integration testing and Salesforce platform best practice to deliver high-quality, maintainable solutions with reduced defects. Release & environment management: Support controlled Salesforce deployments across development, testing and production environments using GitLab, including validation, documentation, rollback planning and minimal disruption to business operations. Collaboration & solution design: Work closely with IT, Marketing, Student Services, Product Owners, business analysts, QA, release and support teams to understand business needs, translate them into technical solutions and deliver outcomes that are fit-for-purpose and future-ready. Documentation, training & strategic planning: Maintain accurate technical documentation, deliver training and knowledge sharing, and contribute to the IT roadmap, platform continuous improvement, technical debt reduction and engineering maturity. Who you are: You’re a senior Salesforce engineer who is deeply technical, analytical and hands-on by nature, with the communication skills to work confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll bring: A tertiary qualification or formal training in IT, Computing Studies, Information Systems or a related discipline. At least five years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, preferably in an enterprise or higher education environment. Demonstrated experience with Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, Flow, Visualforce, Aura, custom objects and fields, data modelling and Salesforce security. Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud and Marketing Cloud, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, AMPscript and SQL. Proven experience designing and supporting Salesforce integrations using REST, SOAP, platform events, middleware and integration platforms such as Informatica. Knowledge of Salesforce authentication, sharing, profiles, permission sets, governor limits, performance considerations and secure integration patterns. Experience with CI/CD and release tools such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, Gearset, Copado or equivalent. Salesforce Platform Developer I certification, which is required. Platform Developer II, Administrator, Platform App Builder, Marketing Cloud or Architect certifications are desirable. Knowledge of Agentforce, Einstein, Salesforce AI capabilities or Data Cloud is desirable.
