HR Generalist | AT-PAC Mexico.

FULL TIMEPEOPLE & OPS

The HR Generalist is the local HR owner for AT-PAC Mexico, delivering hands-on HR and payroll ownership across the employee lifecycle. The role provides first-line support to employees and managers while ensuring accurate, timely and legally compliant HR administration and end-to-end payroll execution.

The role reports directly to the Managing Director Mexico and works in close partnership with the Regional HRBP LAM through a dotted-line reporting relationship.

This is a role for someone who is comfortable working autonomously, solving problems and building trusted relationships across AT-PAC Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Mexico payroll end to end, including incidences, attendance, leave, variable compensation, deductions, benefits, employee changes, terminations, and final settlements. Ensuring accurate, timely and compliant payroll processing.

  • Ensure compliance with Mexican labor law, IMSS, INFONAVIT, payroll obligations, and local HR requirements.

  • Provide on-site HR support throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contracts, employee changes, personnel files, and offboarding.

  • Act as the main point of contact for payroll, compensation and benefits, time management, HR policies, and employee queries.

  • Support the Regional HRBP LAM on performance management, employee development, engagement, and workplace-climate initiatives.

  • Support employee relations matters and conflict resolution, escalating complex cases appropriately.

  • Maintain accurate and complete HR and payroll data, ensuring data integrity, reliable reporting, and audit readiness.

  • Lead HR process-improvement and digitalization initiatives to strengthen efficiency, data quality, and employee experience.

  • Collaborate with the HR teams in Chile and Peru to standardize shared procedures and build reciprocal backup coverage for key HR and payroll activities.

You are a hands-on HR professional who enjoys being close to the business and takes pride in getting the operational details right. You do not wait for others to solve problems. You investigate, propose a solution, take ownership, and involve the right people when a decision requires escalation.

You will be successful in this role if you bring:

  • A service mindset: You listen carefully and provide practical support to employees and managers.

  • Resilience and adaptability: You remain calm under pressure, manage changing priorities, and handle sensitive situations with maturity.

  • Structured problem-solving: You can identify the root cause of an issue, resolve routine cases independently, and escalate complex matters with clear facts and recommendations.

  • Curiosity and learning agility: You are keen to learn regional processes, understand business needs, and continuously improve how HR support is delivered.

  • Collaboration: You build trusted partnerships with local management, employees, Finance, external providers, and regional HR colleagues.

  • A high-performance mindset: You set high standards, follow through on commitments, and look for better ways to deliver results.

  • Integrity and confidentiality: You handle personal, labor, and payroll information with discretion, sound judgment, and respect.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in HR Administration and payroll.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.

  • Proven independent ownership of the full Mexico payroll cycle, including IMSS and INFONAVIT requirements.

  • Solid knowledge of Mexican labor law, payroll compliance, and employee lifecycle processes.

  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, time and attendance systems, and Excel.

  • Advanced English and native Spanish.

As a customer-focused organisation, we understand that our greatest assets are our employees, which is why we are consistently looking for talented professionals who are keen to develop their career in this challenging industry. Come on board and be part of the AT-PAC!
