North 40 Outfitters in Great Falls, MT (West Location) is looking to hire a Full-Time Salaried Category Assistant Store Manager - Clothing & Footwear to join our team. As a Category Assistant Store Manager - Clothing & Footwear at North 40, you will be responsible for the customer experience and will ensure we exceed expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a sales team of 20+ employees
- Drive sales performance and execute business goals
- Support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing routines
- Manage freight flow, inventory, merchandising, and replenishment
- Ensure store safety, security, and operational compliance
- Deliver exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction
- Partner with the Store Manager to drive results and continuously improve store performance
This full-time position requires the ability to work all scheduled shifts between the business hours of Mon-Sat 7 am to 7 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. As this is a managerial position it is not uncommon to work 50+ hours a week. This shift can include working weekends and certain holidays and will require flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.
- Previous retail management or leadership experience required
- Experience leading and developing large teams
- Strong communication, coaching, and decision-making skills
- Proven accountability for team performance and results
- Ability to multitask and lead in a fast-paced retail environment
- Experience with merchandising, inventory management, and sales leadership preferred
- Farm & ranch, outdoor recreation, hardware, or animal health knowledge is a plus
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain required certifications preferred
