In this role, you'll play a critical part in creating a world-class claims experience by managing first and third party bodily injury claims and their associated physical damage.
We’re a distributed team across Columbus, OH, New York, Atlanta, GA, and Chile. This role is a hybrid position going into the Atlanta office.
What you’ll do:
Analyze coverage based on the facts of the loss
Make informed liability decisions, including the consideration of comparative negligence
Collaborate with claims leadership on severity losses, reserve adjustments and claim evaluations
Evaluate settlement demands
Negotiate settlements with first and third party claimants as well as attorneys
Utilize data available to drive focus on claim trends
Handle special projects or additional duties assigned related to your role as an individual contributor of the claims organization
About you:
5+ years of experience in auto claim adjudication, with at least 1 years handling injury severity losses.
Has experience handling claims up to $250k FDV
Active adjusters license in home or designated home state
Consistently exceeds targets including, but not limited to, cycle time and recovery rates
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to lead negotiations
Bias-to-action - you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty and stretch yourself
Owner mentality - take accountability for your actions and results
Must have experience with claims file stewardship
Customer centric working style
Strong collaborator with team members based across the country and the world
Successfully able to work in high-growth & ambiguous start-up environments
4-year degree or equivalent experience in addition to the experience noted above
Bonus if you also have these:
3+ years of commercial auto and/or transportation claim handling experience.
TPA management or auditing experience.
Litigation management experience.
Independent adjuster licenses in New York.
Prior Insurtech or early-stage startup experience.
